Capital on the coast: Mustang Mach-E could reach the beach on a single cargo from any European capital

From Bern to Genoa, Madrid to Marbella, Budapest to Trieste, the Ford Mustang Mach-E could reach the beach in European capitals without stopping to recharge

More people than ever will be exploring Europe in an electric vehicle this summer, with sales in 2021 up more than 50 percent so far compared to the same period in 2020. At least for new Mustang Mach-E owners, fear of range doesn’t have to dampen the excitement of their summer vacation.

From Bern in Switzerland to the historic Italian port city of Genoa or from Madrid to the exclusive Spanish beaches of Marbella, owners of the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E could make this and many others European1 Travel from capital to coast on a single charge2.

Even from a capital like Prague in the inland Czech Republic, Mustang Mach-E could transport a family non-stop to the hip urban beach in Szczecin around 500 km north in Poland. And with a targeted all-electric range of up to 610 km3 (more than 370 miles) it would arrive with range.

Traveling to the coast from the capitals of Austria, Hungary, Poland, Spain or Switzerland is also associated with a longer journey. However, the industry-leading FordPass Charging Network has compatible charging stations in accessible coastal locations from each of these countries’ capitals, so Mustang Mach-E owners can recharge their batteries as well as their tans, and make sure they have enough charge to get home.

“After such a tough 2020, many of us will be excited to explore Europe this summer and the Mustang Mach-E is the perfect vehicle for that,” said Roelant de Waard, general manager, Passenger Vehicles, Ford of Europe. “The impressive range helps ensure that the Mustang continues the long connection between road trips and freedom and at the same time adds the additional benefit of emission-free driving.”

In addition to emission-free driving, owners can also benefit from the lower operating costs compared to gasoline or diesel engines and the inherent smoothness of an electric drive train, all of which can help keep the stress level low

No matter where in Europe owners want to go this summer, they can use the EV trip planner in the FordPass app4th to make traveling even easier. The app calculates the route and plans any charging stops based on the current battery level of the Mustang Mach-E. The Intelligent Range feature also more accurately predicts how much range drivers will have by using previous driving behavior, weather forecasts and crowdsourcing data from other Mustang Mach-E vehicles.

The Mustang Mach-E’s ability as a summer road trip companion doesn’t end there either. The emptying luggage compartment under the bonnet, or “frunk”, allows moist and sandy towels or swimwear to be neatly stowed away, while models with the optional full-length panorama roof have a special glass coating for cooler interiors. An additional inner layer between the glasses also protects against ultraviolet rays.

The next generation of SYNC infotainment system5 It also allows users to split the 15.5-inch touchscreen between navigation and music selection – with Power Up Over-the-Air updates that add useful new features – and owners are ready for a great road trip adventure.
