THE latest in a long line of rivals from Love Island has a touch of Big Brother.
Like the ultimate reality show, it will feature a house full of total strangers, shown on Channel 4 and presented by Davina McCall.
She fronted Big Brother from 2000 to 2010, but the program was eventually dwarfed and dropped after Love Island arrived in 2015.
The producers have cast both Spanish singletons and love-hungry Brits to take part.
A TV insider said, âThis will in many ways feel like both shows.
âIt was shot in a Spanish villa full of hot singles who want to meet. The biggest difference, however, is that many of the participants cannot understand each other due to the language barrier, so they will feel like talking. ”
His creative team was busy making outrageous games for the participants.
The series, with the working title Language Of Love, is expected to air early next year.
Around this time, the only series of the winter version of Love Island was shown in 2020.
That series flopped, but the success of its summer counterpart, as well as dating shows like Married At First Sight UK, Ex On The Beach, Ready To Mingle and Too Hot To Handle have encouraged TV bosses to do another series in a similar fashion.
The Netflix hit Too Hot To Handle was the first dating show to really deal with the international format.
It has proven that a cast full of different nationalities can not only create some hot moments, but it can also mean trouble.
Security forces were called in to disperse American Chase DeMoor and French model Marvin Anthony in an argument over which country cooked the better fries.
But I’m sure Davina will keep everyone in the new show okay.
She will definitely suppress the swearing.
LAURA’S NAKED TRUTH
THIS Morning’s sofa had to be thoroughly wiped down yesterday after an Extinction Rebellion activist sat on it completely naked.
Laura Amherst covered her modesty with a sign that read No More Empty Target as she tried to explain to Phillip Schofield and co-host Holly Willoughby why wearing clothes helped save the planet.
She said, âWhy are you using my wealth not just for my benefit, but for the benefit of everyone else?
“In an ideal world, I wouldn’t have to do that to get attention.”
The Brighton student posed naked on Downing Street earlier this month during an eco-protest.
Handy way to lose the tan lines.
Catch Paddy in return
PADDY McGUINNESS has the biggest balls on TV.
The Bolton comic is back for a second serving of BBC1’s Catchpoint – but this time it’s featured celebrities for an all-star series.
Saturday night’s favorite, where contestants catch balls of different sizes to win cash for charity, is one of the BBC shows that Paddy juggles along with Top Gear and A Question Of Sport.
He said: âI am thrilled that Catchpoint is bigger and better than ever again.
“When celebrities try to catch our balls, big and small, it gets packed with lots of laughter and sensational dives.”
Paddy told me earlier this month that he also plans to bring back the sitcom Max And Paddy: Road To Nowhere alongside Peter Kay and said they have two Christmas specials up and running.
Tinny & Sue: What should I swear
SUSANNAH CONSTANTINE and Trinny Woodall have a shocking nickname for each other that starts with C.
Even if the fashion duo who hosted the BBC hit What Not To Wear in the Noughties are a few classy girls, their language would not be out of place in a workers’ club.
On her latest podcast, My Wardrobe Malfunction, about her love for the C-word, Susannah says, âThis is my favorite word. It is also my youngest daughter’s favorite word. ”
Susannah says Trinny even gave her a present with their common nickname, revealing, âIt’s a mug and it only says C *** on it. You think ‘this is such a nice thing’ and then you say ‘Oh my god’. “
A terrible turn for Brendan
BRENDAN SHEERIN is used to dealing with loud mouthed passengers on Coach Trip – but now he will be dealing with a bunch of much more difficult souls.
The TV tour guide has a new show on E4 called Celeb Ghost Trip where he’ll meet six pairs of stars in some of the UK’s most paranormal hotspots.
In addition to the haunted hunt, the 12 guests are faced with terrifying challenges – not least of all to hold out to the end in order to win the competition.
Brendan told me, “I’m over the moon that Coach Trip is back and I can’t wait to dust my clipboard again.”
Yellow cards ready, everyone.
SEAN BEAN’s next role after the prison drama Time will be Last Tango In Halifax actress Nicola Walker in Marriage. It examines a couple who grapple with the ups and downs of three decades of commitment and comes from the Bafta award-winning author and director Stefan Golaszewski.
