TORONTO – “Jesus Christ Superstar” is rising again in Toronto.

Mirvish Productions says the 50th anniversary rock opera resumption opens at the Princess of Wales Theater by the end of the month. The show is scheduled to run from November 30th to January 2nd.

Advance sales for American Express customers began on Thursday and the box office will open to the general public on Monday.

The blockbuster musical’s North American tour was originally scheduled to take place in Toronto in Fall 2020, but was postponed after the COVID-19 crisis closed theaters.

Mirvish also says the return of the homemade musical hit “Come From Away” has been delayed by a week, with a representative saying they underestimated how long it would take to revamp the show.

It will now continue on December 15th at the Royal Alexandra Theater instead of December 7th with ticket sales on November 10th. “Come From Away” ran for almost three years before the pandemic abruptly stopped it on March 13, 2020.

The Mirvish theaters are at full capacity and the audience must be fully vaccinated.
