LFC Foundation launches new fund for community initiatives

Created by the LFC Foundation and supported by Liverpool Football Club, the fund aims to support and support local groups or organizations that have great ideas to start a sustainable project or initiative in the L4, L5 and / or L6 postcode areas within Anfield Road and to create Everton stations.

In April 2019, Liverpool FC committed to making a donation to a Community Grant Fund every time a concert or other major event takes place in Anfield. This fund was specifically used to reinvest in the region.

To thank the local community for their continued support, LFC’s Red Neighbors team has agreed to double the £ 30,000 donated to a total of £ 60,000 – the total of the 2019-20 funding pot.

Following the community event in Anfield in November 2019 and feedback from residents and community councils, the LFC Foundation is now excited to officially launch the Community Initiatives Fund and invite local groups or organizations to apply for funding that will help new and exciting projects and help to have a lasting positive influence on our neighborhood.

Andy Hughes, General Manager of Liverpool FC, said: “We would like to thank the residents for their continued support and patience with us during the concerts and major events in Anfield.

“We hope this fund can be used for the benefit of the entire community and look forward to supporting some fantastic projects and initiatives, especially during these challenging times.”

Matt Parish, director of the LFC Foundation, and Forbes Duff, senior manager of Red Neighbors, added, “We are excited to help the club raise funds to community groups and organizations that really want to make a positive impact on their local community and neighborhood. “

The Anfield and Everton Town Councils said, “We want to encourage local groups from the Anfield and Everton communities to apply for the LFC Foundation Community Initiatives Fund to carry out permanent projects or initiatives that will benefit two communities near the stadium.

“We know that the people in our communities have some fantastic ideas that would really make a positive impact, and it would be fantastic if some of them were realized for residents to enjoy in the future.”

The fund is administered and administered by the official Liverpool FC charity, the LFC Foundation.
