Mexican, Italian restaurants are coming to Erie; Blues and jazz feast


a new place, Pueblo Real, was inspected and licensed at 8155 West Ridge Road in Girard. The owner said he expects to open by September 1st. The Mexican restaurant has sister locations in Conneaut and jeffersonOhio.

New Italian place is coming

the previous I jump at 2933 W. 12th St., owned by Scott Enterprises, is slated to open in Spring 2023 as a new restaurant, according to company president Nick Scott Sr.

“It’s been delayed as we wait and see how the economy does,” Scott said Monday, “but we’ve been planning an Italian restaurant called Roma’s all along, but that could change.” We’re still researching and planning for it.”

Beers, food trucks ready for a feast

Romolo’s organizes international tour

Romolo Chocolates, 1525 W. Eighth St., opened its current location in 2008.

Romolo chocolates, 1525 W. Eighth St., hosted the International EduTour of Retail Confectioners in Erie last week. More than 50 members of Retail Confectioners International concluded their annual convention in Pittsburgh with a trip to Erie to see Romolo Chocolates. Attendees chatted with Tony Stefanelli, Group President and Certified Pastry Chef, about Romolo’s confectionery manufacturing process.

“This is the first educational tour offered by RCI,” said Stefanelli. “I am so proud that chocolatiers, pastry chefs and candy store owners from across the country have come to Romolo Chocolates to learn what we do here in Erie.”
