Drummond Island, MI – If your ideal getaway is for a little more secluded relaxation, the Drummond Island Resort has put together a series of “Ski, Sip & Chill” events this winter to take you on the eastern edge of Michigan – and the United States – will depend
Located off the coast of De Tour Village on the eastern Upper Peninsula, Drummond Island is the second largest freshwater island in the United States, according to tourism authorities. And although it’s known for its rugged ORV trails, fishing, and bird watching, the island also has plenty of groomed trails for winter sports.
Some of these will be integrated into the Drummond Island Resort’s “Ski, Sip & Chill” events this winter. Participants can choose whether they want to enter the trails with snowshoes or cross-country skis and enjoy five planned stops along the route. This is how the resort describes the food and drink stations:
Stop one: Start on the 19th hole to pick up the equipment, grab a hot drink (cocoa / coffee), then make your way to the trails.
Stop two: White wine tasting in the yurt (3 samples) and shrimp scampi pasta.
Stop three: Red wine tasting (3 samples) and various meat, cheese and crackers.
Stop four: Open fire.
Stop five: Go to Pins (restaurant and entertainment area) to remove your gear, warm up, and enjoy a cup of Poblano Chicken Chili.
There are six dates for this event: January 8th, 15th, 22nd and 5th, 12th and 19th February. The event runs on each of these dates from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., depending on the weather.
The cost of the event is $ 60 per person. The cost drops to $ 50 if guests bring their own snow gear. Children up to 12 years can participate free of charge. If an adult does not want the alcoholic beverages, the cost is $ 25.
