Breakfast; some might say the most important meal of the day. I would say the best meal of the day. I mean, why do you think there is such a thing as brinner (breakfast for dinner) or places that serve breakfast all day. That’s why I was so excited when I read that Old Town Lansings Golden Harvest is about to reopen!
The Lansing State Journal had the opportunity to speak to the owner of Golden Harvest, Vanessa Vicknair, and learned that repairs will be made to the roof soon, hopefully this week. Unfortunately, the doors of this common favorite breakfast and brunch had been closed for a year and a half, partly due to a leaky roof. And when Covid hit, Golden Harvest, like many companies, faced new struggles. However, things are on the rise. With the help of an “anonymous local business owner” and donations from the community, Vicknair was able to repay taxes and necessary roof repairs.
Golden Harvest is one of those places that everyone says you have to try at least once, but I’d say once isn’t enough. Golden Harvest not only rocks an everyday menu, but also always has the most delicious flavor combinations on their specials board, so there is always something new to try. You can not only look forward to delicious food; Vicknair plans to make some external changes; namely add more seating! What for anyone who has been to Golden Harvest knows that the seating is the only thing that is a little limited.
I’m really looking forward to Golden Harvest reopening their doors so I can enjoy an Elvis waffle and some cookies and gravy. How did you deal with the lack of Golden Harvest? We have some suggestions for you, check out the list below. And let us know your recommendations by sending us a message using the station app.
